Fishburne Set To Go Sci Fi With ‘The Colony’

Jeff Renfroe, the editor of the excellent ‘Anvil! The Story of Anvil!’ (an impressive Popcorn Taxi event) will be directing the legendary Laurence Fishburne in the $16 million budget ‘The Colony’ in Toronto, on Feb 22 (through to March 30), if talks all work out.

Set in the next Ice Age, ‘The Colony’ will feature a group of underground survivors fighting off feral subhuman cannibals. The script was a joint effort between Renfro, Patrick Tarr, Pascal Trottier and Svet Rouskov.

Kevin Zegers, of ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Dawn of the Dead’ fame is also set to star.

Fishburne is no stranger at all to Sci Fi, with turns in ‘Event Horizon’, ‘The Matrix’, ‘Predators’, and the upcoming ‘Man of Steel’, where he’ll play Perry White.
