Pest, Dennis, Jerome, Biggz and Moses are a gang of Kennington teenagers. They’re mugging nurse Sam on her way home when a burning object falls from the sky and obliterates a car.
It’s a creature – from outer space.
Being from South London, they kill it. But there are more aliens to come – loads more! A night of hilarious terror follows as outer space smashes into the inner city as mysterious, vicious aliens attack their home – ‘the block’. The police can’t help – adults are useless – it’s up to them to defend their turf – South London style.
In the tradition of Evil Dead 2 and Shaun of the Dead, Attack The Block is horrror AND comedy.
Starring Nick Frost, Jodie Whittaker, John Boyega, Luke Treadaway.
Written and directed by Joe Cornish
MORE ON JOE CORNISH
Joe Cornish was educated at Westminster School and was one of the founders of the iconoclastic ‘Adam and Joe Show’. Friends with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright, he received ‘special thanks’ in the credits for both ‘Paul’ and ‘Scott Pilgrim vs The World’ and appeared in Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead.
Whilst ‘Attack The Block’ is his directorial debut, he already has some impressive Hollywood writing credits, including the upcoming ‘Ant-Man’ (directed by Edgar Wright) and the Steven Spielberg-directed ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’.
